LIght House

Chuck Burkhart made an innocent comment at one of our prayer meetings at 110 Clinton St. that didn’t register at the time. He said he’d love to have a prison ministry. A few months later one of our county commissioners called me and asked if I knew anyone that would be interested in being a chaplain at the county prison. It was then I remembered Chuck’s comment. Now Chuck is the chaplain and doing an amazing job. I’m reminded of Psalm 37:4; “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.”

Psalms 37:4 NLT Chuck sent this to me and I was blessed by it. I know you will be too. Thx Chuck

Amy is incarcerated, I counsel with her regularly. Amy shared this poem with me, and I immediately thought of the devotionals you share. I told Amy about what a blessing these devotionals are to all of us in the church and have Amy’s permission to share this poem with you and anyone you wish.

"Light house"

A shinning light

in a world of dark

This light house

is Great thou art.

The beam is bright

and shows around

The hidden

but sacred ground

Don't let the darkness

drown out the light

Its beautiful to see

both night and daylight.

The light house

is a beacon to the stormy sea and

Jesus Christ

is the light house for me.

Make it a Faithful Friday! God is good…
