Amy’s Journey

Amy Windisch, our friend from North Carolina, shares this beautiful and heartwarming devotion with us today. You will and appreciate her humility and honesty. Ty Amy

In reading Psalms 105 this morning and thinking about the journey’s of Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Moses those were not easy journeys at all. But they had faith in God, they believed.

I started thinking about my journey in the more recent years. And how Jesus has changed my life, thoughts, desires.

Did I learn something new today about my flesh? Did I learn something new about “work”? I’m dyslexic and I often tell myself to stop saying that. But, through the Word of God I have started to understand why a person can lose knowledge and understanding when they’re not “diligently” in the Word of God and prayer.

God taught me to read and write when no one else could. And it’s been the best work I have ever had the pleasure to do. My flesh doesn’t always want to, it hates to read.

I say work because, I have to go over words and sentences often. The same words can be as they are written or all of a sudden different. I will say it over and over, look up a definition again and again. That would have been when my flesh gave up.

But the diligence of God, He doesn’t give up. And His diligence makes my flesh weaker. He strengthens my soul. God hasn’t taken dyslexic completely away. I don’t have as many scrambled words or I proofread my own words a couple of times instead of a lot to catch mistakes. But He’s given me a desire to seek Him, I have pleasure rejoicing that I am “able” to delight in His Word. Because of Jesus! Hallelu Yah!

Colossians 3:1-4 (LSB)

1) Therefore, if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

2) Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.

3)For you died and your life has been hidden with Christ in God.

4) When Christ, who is our life, is manifested, then you also will be manifested with Him in glory.

Colossians 3:16-17 (LSB)

6)Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with gratefulness in your hearts to God.

17)And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Make it a Winning Wednesday! God is good…
