Waves
Imagine this Josh Knipple provides us this great encouragement. I
love how he takes us along on his journey.
Imagine sitting on the shore staring out at the waves. How they existed before time began and will continue long after your gone. Today I want to take that one step further and pretend you are walking into the water with me. Some of those waves are breaking right at you feet, splashing up to your ankles. Then a few come in and break with a little more force splashing you up to your knees. Or in the twins case, those same waves totally knocked them off their feet, submersing them.
I love the waves and now our kids are at that same spot, playing in them, jumping over them or even riding them. There is something about those waves coming in that turns them into “God’s jungle gym.” Hours upon hours go by, time seems to stand still as those waves continue hitting one after the next. Sometimes you can see them off in the distance coming in with force, while others appear totally calm; peaceful if you will.
Think about God’s love a second with me. Compare it to the waves. Read these words found in Romans 8: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39 NIV
Can anything stop those waves? As I shared yesterday, a huge resounding NO! Can anything stop God’s love for you found in Christ Jesus. An even bigger, shout it from the rooftops with everything you got, NOOOOO! Nothing in all creation can separate you from God’s love. Sometimes you may see or sense His love in ways that fell like it is knocking you off of your feet. Other times you may hardly even know it is there. I promise you this though according to Paul that nothing can stop God’s love for you. So the next time maybe you are questioning God’s love for you, think of taking those first couple steps into the ocean and letting the waves just encapsulate your mind. Think of it as God whispering to you with every wave that comes in, “I love you, I love you, I love you.” Over and over and over. The waves are a reminder of his infinite love.
With that thought in mind right now I’d encourage you to put on the song How He loves and sing it out at the top of your lungs. Let you heart be moved at the thought of God’s love.
He is jealous for me
Love's like a hurricane, I am a tree
Bending beneath the weight of His wind and mercy
When all of a sudden
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory
And I realize just how beautiful You are
And how great Your affections are for me
And oh, how He loves us, oh
Oh, how He loves us
How He loves us all
Make it a Wondrous Wednesday! God is good….
