Water for Ellie
Kate Debrason shares today’s heartwarming and enchanting devo with us. I’m reminded that blessings follow obedience. Thx Billi
This morning I was packing my bag for church and God said pack an extra bottle of water. I thought, “ I don’t need two, my son and I can share, why would I pack two?” And God said, “Sometimes I ask you to do things just to see if you’ll obey.” So I packed it. At church, I was serving in kids church and told me co-teacher this and she was encouraged. Five minutes later, in the fellowship hall, my friend’s three year old daughter came over to me and asked for water. Her mom later told me that she had been running late that morning and forgotten their water bottles. God was looking out for His 3-year-old daughter hours before she was even thirsty! He is sooo good!!
I’ve been struggling this week to trust in His provision and He used the thirst of a child to remind me that “He will never leave me nor forsake me.”
“At the moment I have all I need—and more! I am generously supplied with the gifts you sent me …. And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:18-19 NLT
God did not lead us out of our Egypts, for us to die in the desert! He will provide manna, quail, and water! He has a purpose for our lives and for this season! Amen!
“But Moses told the people “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. … The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.””
Exodus 14:13-14 NLT
Make it Trusting Thursday! God is good…
