Treasure

““Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.”

Matthew 6:19-21 NLT

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth” is a famous teaching from Jesus during the Sermon on the Mount.

Meaning of the Passage

Earthly Treasures: Material possessions like money, clothes, and property are temporary. Moths can eat them, rust can ruin them, and thieves can steal them.

Heavenly Treasures: Spiritual investments like loving God, helping others, and showing kindness last forever.

The Heart's Focus: Jesus explains that "where your treasure is, there your heart will be also". What you value controls your thoughts and desires.
