Seek Him Out
Kim Gearhart recently responded to one of Josh Knipple’s messages. I placed in my message folder and as I put more messages there it got moved further down. I’m so glad that she reminded me. I’ve done this more than a few times. My only saving grace is God knows who needs what message when the need it. Perhaps “this one’s for you!”
Josh‘s message hit the nail on the head for me today. As usual.
I have always done exactly what he is writing about.
I pray about the really, really “big things”, but the other things that weigh me down.. the “little things”..I just keep letting them do it..rather than giving them to HIM.
I know that many people are dealing with so much more than I am. Illness. Poverty. Loss. War. This world is a chaotic mess. People have become desensitized and filled with despair and rage.
God has so much on his plate..
And yet.. His power and love are Infinite. We are the ones that put limits on Him.
There is no better way to describe it other than to compare it to the boundless, unbridled love of a parent for their child.
A reminder for those of us who have ever felt abandoned, out of “control”, trying to make peace out of chaos, worrying constantly about what could possibly happen..rather than seeking peace in the moment that we are in..and remembering that a power much greater than us is fully in charge..if we only let Him be.
Seek Him out in the peace and beauty of nature. Reminders that He is undeniably all around us. Block out the noise. Seek Him in The Word.
What a comfort it is to be reminded that we are children of The King. The One who loves us that deeply.
John 3:1 “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!"
"For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, ‘Abba, Father.’" — Romans 8:15 (NIV)
Make it a Fearless Friday! God is good…
