Saved by Grace

Chris Carpenter shares this very personal and powerful testimony with us today. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so" is a famous line from Psalm 107:2. It means that people who have been saved or helped by God should speak up and share their stories

Forty years ago, Jesus Christ saved my lost soul, and I cannot thank Him enough.  I cried out to Him in my loneliness, and He met me there. He never has left me since.

I was once worldly, prideful, and spiritually dead~searching for hope, peace, contentment, forgiveness and love in all of the wrong places.  But God found me in Centerville, Virginia.

(Virginia is for Lovers!) The states slogan (God has an amazing sense of humor.)

GOD! Can you imagine the creator of all? Yes friends, our God picked His lost sheep up off of the bathroom floor.  In that moment, He gave me new life, filled my emptiness with His loving presence, and set my spirit free.

Life before Christ was like being tossed in raging rapids, barely holding on.

After He saved me, the storms did not disappear but He stepped into my tired scary boat.  Now He leads, and gives me His total peace that holds me steady through every stormy trial.  He is my strength, my breath, and my calm in every season.

For forty years, He has walked me through every mountain and valley.  He has been faithful in my weakness, patient in my failures, and loving when I didn’t deserve it.  His grace has carried me far beyond anything I could have done in my own strength.

Jesus is not just part of my life ~He is my life.

He is the Savior of my soul, the Hope of my heart, and the reason I face eternity without fear. I know that when it’s my last day here on earth, I will be with my Lover of my soul for all eternity.

Today, I do not celebrate how long that I’ve been saved as much as I celebrate the One who saved me.  Forty years later, my heart and soul still cry out. “Thank you Jesus!” “Thank you for saving and loving me, a lost sinner.”

Does your life need saved?  God’s arms are always open, His grace is still enough, and His love is still reaching and touching every heart.

Thank you Jesus for forty years of your grace!

My prayer is that everyone be saved by you.  Plus, while I’m still here Lord, let all my days be lived out for you.

In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen. Thank you Jesus!

2 Corinthians 5:17

“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and the new has come.”

Ephesians 2:8

For it is by grace that you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.

John 10:10

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Make it a Salvation Saturday.

God is good!
