Rejoice Always

Our Florida friend, Jamel, shares today’s wonderful encouragement.

Life has a way of throwing painful, unexpected, and unwanted curve balls at us. Sometimes we are able to see it coming and brace ourselves for the impact. But most times, a curve ball appears out of nowhere and knocks us off our feet. If you spend time alone with God, just as sleep and food keeps your body alive, so does prayer and Bible reading keep your soul right with God. Crazy how we sometimes go a day without food and we whine and complain, but we go a week without talking to God and it's business as usual. So, don't blame God during the tough times when you don't glorify him in the good times. In fact rejoice in both, as circumstances shift like wind. Hence we can't choose our circumstances but, we can always choose God to help us get through our circumstances.

We may encounter many defeats but we must not be defeated. God never promised we wouldn't cry;  but He promised He'd wipe our tears. So, cry as hard as you want to. But always make sure when you stop crying, you'll never cry for the same reason again. Whatever God has blessed you with, be it wealth, good health, the ability to walk, talk, see, hear, whatever it is take it with grateful hands.  "Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil--this is a gift of God" Ecclesiastes 5:19
