Follow Me

My friend Joe Barnouski shares some great thoughts with us as we head into the weekend. I’m so glad he felt led to share this timely and pertinent message. Great job Joe!

Good day Ray, I’ve been hesitant to share but this morning I believe I have a devotion in need of sharing.

Use it or not it’s up to you. No worries. Thanks for keeping this ministry alive.

May you be challenged and encouraged today. Lately I’ve been considering how to close out our home Bible study on this Sunday evening. At first I was thinking of my slothfulness. Paul tells us to examine ourselves. I find myself slothful in several areas; prayer being one, I’ll spare you the rest.

Then, “thy will be done”. This has been so enlightening! Much of His will is that I grow in understanding, knowledge and wisdom. Paul prayed this often for the NT churches.

Lately I’ve had the simple command, “Follow Me” repeatedly coming to the forefront.I’ve heard these words in so many places. Not these exact words but the opportunities them present me.

Follow Me:

Repent and be born a new and different.

Run from evil if necessary, protect your family from evil as Joseph fled to Egypt.

Provide that which you are able to provide for those lacking.

Teach others His ways as Jesus taught on a hill side.

Go into the hard places of death and decay to restore life of those in the tombs

Meet people were they are and show them a better way as Christ met the woman at the well. That one meeting changed the course of an entire town.

Stand silently as men accuse you of wrong doing.

Be willing to follow Him unto death!!!

Really Lord??? This could be part of following You?

How about “I go and prepare a place for you…”

Oh, I’ll gladly follow You there.

And, these final words came to mind; “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.

Prayer:,Lord, may I not forget that following You is a forever commandment. Keep me from stepping ahead of You. Keep my eyes on You that I might not get lost as I lag behind. Continue to reveal Your understanding, Your knowledge and Your wisdom to go and do as You instruct. Lead me not into temptation for I am so weak in and of myself. Help me Spirit in my weaknesses and may my eyes be fixed on the prize. Amen

Make it a Faithful Friday! God is good…
