“If you do _____, I will do ____ “
I was reading 1 Samuel 1:11 this morning and it hit like a ton of bricks. When in my life have I vowed to do something after something else was done for me. I can think of many times using that terminology with God and others. This was a true indicator of the shallowness of my faith and character. Really telling God if you heal , provide ,remove etc. , then I will trust you only to go back to the previous condition.
Hannah followed through on her promise and gave up Samuel for God’s service and had 5 other children as a result of her obedience. Never again will my trust be conditional and my promises to God be temporary.
