Good News
Karen Mayerscik
Karen Mayerscik shares today’s encouraging word with us. I pray it will spur you on. Ty Karen.
We had a representative from the Gideons at our church this past Sunday. He shared several powerful stories about how, with our support, the Gideons’ ministry of placing Bibles in hotels, doctors’ offices, and other locations has changed countless lives.
This reminded of the song “Thank You” written by Ray Boltz. The lyrics tell the story of a man who dreamed he went to heaven. In that dream, he is greeted by a thankful young man who, at just eight years old, had prayed the prayer of salvation after hearing it from him in Sunday school class.
He then meets a missionary who shows him a vast crowd stretching as far as the eye can see. The missionary explains that these are all the lives that were touched and transformed because of the man’s generosity in supporting the mission field.
God uses all of us to help get as many people as possible to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. He has created good works for us to walk in (Ephesians 2:10), so I believe when you or I have a chance to do good, that situation to do good was created for you.
No act of service for Jesus is ever insignificant. Even the smallest gifts, prayers, or efforts given in His name can produce eternal fruit and great rewards in heaven.
Let’s make heaven crowded.
“And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.” (Matthew 11:42)
Make it a Winning Wednesday! God is good…
