Fully Charged
Bobby brings us another great message. You will get a real charge from his thoughts!
Ask anyone who is in the construction, electrical, or plumbing field, what is one of their most important tools and most would say the battery drill. No carpenter, electrician, or plumber would go to a job without one. It’s a versatile tool that not only drills holes, but with the array of fasteners in today’s market, allows you to fasten almost anything to anything in a fraction of the time it took when these things were done by hand with a screwdriver. But the drill is only useful if the battery is charged. If used a lot, the battery needs recharged daily.
As Christians, we are the most important tool in Gods toolbox. He uses us to love and care for others and to spread the Good News of the gospel. To be effective in His work we need to be fully charged. God has given us an important charging station at our local church. We get our spiritual batteries charged by gathering with others of like precious faiths to worship Him, be taught from the Word, and fellowship with one another.
A contractor knows that if he only charged his batteries once a week, it would run out of power before the week ended. So he charges them every day. Likewise we need more than a once a week charging of our spiritual battery. To stay fully charged we need to be plugged into our home charger- the Word of God. By reading His Word every day and by spending time with Him in prayer, we keep our batteries charged.
To get the most life out of a battery drill it needs to be used and recharged daily. Letting a battery sit too long without use will shorten it’s life and make it less effective. Likewise we need to use the power God gives us daily and then be recharged to be an effective tool for God.
Battery drills come in voltages of 6,12,18,and 24. Obviously a 6 volt battery can’t do what a 24 volt one can. In like manner, God has given each of us different gifts and abilities. To some He gave little; to others He gave much. One day we will each stand before God to give an account of our time on earth. If you were given a 6 volt battery, He won’t compare you to one who was given 24. Rather He will ask you what you have done with what you were given.
Stay fully charged.
Make it a Thriving Thursday! God is good…
