For and With

Nick Miller shares today’s wonderful words of encouragement. We need to learn this great truth in our lives.

I have been reminded recently that while God is certainly for me, He really wants me to see that He is WITH me every moment of every day.

“I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Treat me as one of your hired servants.”’ And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.”

Luke 15:19-20

In the prodigal son story the father wants his son be with him in spite of what the son had done. The son was certainly shocked by the tremendous love of the Father! The other son was indignant because he was there doing things FOR his father every day and never ‘got anything out of it’.  He missed the point and underestimated and misunderstood his father’s love as well. He had the father and all that he had was his. We have Christ and because of what He has done we have it all! It’s not about our personal checklist or a gathering of accomplishments or stuff. It’s not about building our reputation before God and doing things for Him to earn His favor, or the favor of others. It’s about doing things WITH Him, not just for Him.

We can’t do ANYTHING for Him unless we are WITH Him!

“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.”

John 15:4

Would you rather that the people you love do things FOR you or WITH you?  To ask the question differently, if you had the choice between never having your loved one DO anything for you ever again or never having them BE with you ever again which would you choose ? We all know the answer! When we are saved our life WITH Him begins. When we invite Him in, not only does He save us but He wants to be WITH us every moment of every day.  He wants us to experience everything, every day in life WITH Him! Enjoy great camaraderie with Jesus in everything today !

“No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.”

John 15:15

Make it a Satisfying Saturday! God is good…
