Worship

Tara Mihalko on worship

Pastor Ray talked a little bit about worship on a  Saturday night. Saturday morning God gave me the word worship. I looked into the word, specifically in Hebrew. The meaning and the type of praise and where it can be found in the Bible. Here are 7 meanings and ways of worship.

Tehillah, means a spontaneous song. And the type of praise is a heartfelt hymn. Psalms 22:3.

Halal, means to celebrate loudly. And this type of praise is a joyful public praise. Psalms 33:2.

Shabac, means a loud shout. The type of praise is a triumphant praise. Psalms 47:1.

Yadah, means to lift your hands. And the type of praise is a gesture of gratitude. Psalms 63:4.

Barack, means to kneel. And the type of phrase is a humble worship. Psalms 95:6.

Todah, means thanksgiving. And the type of praise is an offering of praise. Psalms 100:4.

I remember when I first started coming to Journey years ago and watching Teresa worship. I wanted to be able to worship that way. The first time I put my hands in the air, it felt a little strange. Who’s watching? What will they think? I had never done it before. But now I don’t care who’s watching. I’m not doing it for show. I am doing it for God. When I worship, it’s me and Him. That is where my focus is, on Him.

Psalms 63:4 so I will bless you as long as I live; in your name, I will lift up my hands.

Make it a Meaningful Monday! God is good….
