Frank Young reminds that God is our anchor for the storms of life.
We all can relate to Psalm 40. That is because we can relate to being stuck in life. I remember years ago being stuck on a road late at night in the snow. I remember how frustrating it was as it took me an hour to get out. I was completely drained.
You know, as a Christian, getting stuck should come as no surprise. Jesus said that we will have trouble in this world. But He told us to be of good courage because He has overcome the world.
We as Christian’s need to understand this. We are going to face unpleasant things in this life. But we also need to know what to do when we get stuck. CRY OUT TO GOD FOR HIM TO RESCUE YOU.
I find it interesting in reading Psalm 40 that David just got out of being stuck to just going down the road and getting stuck again. That is just reality folks. Sometimes you just can’t catch a break.
Being stuck could be your health, persecution, loss of a job, friends who abandoned you, relationship problems, family problems or maybe by our own bad choices.
But Psalm 40:4 gives us something to hold on to and walk out. “Oh the joys of those who trust the Lord, who don’t turn to the proud or to them who worship idols.”
It’s easy when you are stuck to compromise your faith. To do anything just to get unstuck. But those who hold on to Him until the end are His. I always hold on to Colossians 1:17. “In Him, all things are held together.”
HOLD ON TO HIM AND HOLD ON TIGHT!
Make it a Wise Wednesday! God is good…
