Live Holy

Josh Mihalko was encouraged by Franny’s devotion from last week.He shares his thoughts with us.

“So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then. But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.””  1 Peter 1:14-16 NLT

The holiness that Peter speaks of is to permeate our entire being. It is to be reflective of who we are, how we think, what we do, and what we say. If you are in Christ, God has already set you apart, even while your status as His holy child becomes more evident as you work with the Spirit to put sin to death. Today, focus on being holy with your thoughts, asking God to make your mind pure and to help you stay away from sinful thinking.

Self-centeredness is what causes separation from God. We can’t live for ourselves anymore. We wake up for him. We don’t wake up to sin. Instead we wake up to shine. The true gospel is living for Him every day. And we show that by our fruits, not by our works. there are very few that truly walk totally with Him. It really saddens Tara and me as well because we see what He has done in our lives. How could you not want to live for somebody that completely changed you? The only thing that makes sense in our lives is God. We tried everything else He is the only one that works. He is our truth. The truth sets you free and that’s Jesus. Love the devotion by Franny which spurred on these thoughts. It’s good to look in the mirror of God’s Word and see what He’s doing in our lives. In other words take time to be holy.

Make it a Mirrored Monday! God is good…
