God is There

Craig Hollern shares his scary experience. It will certainly encourage you.

Have to tell you the devos from Josh were meant for me to hear. Let me explain.

Saturday on the river, I got spanked in the rapids. No big deal, feet up and in front of you, head on your chest and ride it out till you’re out of the whitewater then swim to the boat. Done it a hundred times over the years.

Yesterday was different. Somehow as I was bouncing off the rocks on my way to flat water, I got flipped around. Now I’m going head first and my feet were upstream. Not safe and I knew it. Foot entrapment can kill you.

That’s what happened to me. Got my ankle trapped between two rocks and I was trapped. Backwards in the water with my foot upstream and the whitewater pushing against my chest.

God was watching. At the time I didn’t think about him falling out of the boat with me, but he was there. As I was trying to keep my head above water and get free, another boater came past and I yelled foot entrapment.

Thank you God. He heard me and eddied out as soon as he hit flat water and ran up the side of the river to me. Jumped on the big rock that was sticking out of the water and reached out his hand. I grabbed it.

He pulled me upstream and took some of the water pressure off my body and my foot released. The whole time I was stuck, around 5 minutes. I didn’t think about the lord being with me, but after the adrenaline wore off and I was back in my boat, I thanked him over and over for being with me.

“But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.” Matt. 10:29-31 NLT

God is good and with us all the time.

Make it a Thankful Tuesday.
