God is BIG

Reagan is back. Life is better when Reagan speaks. She’s like EF Hutton- when Reagan speaks people listen.

My devotional this morning mentioned the story of David and Goliath, and it reminded me of how truly big our God is in comparison to our small ways of thinking. Our God hears our prayers before we can even speak them out loud, our thoughts before we even think them. God works the same with our desires. Jesus desires us to ask. I used to find myself withholding my requests to God because they were silly, small, or because I had too many. God cares about each request, big small, and the millions of times I come to Him in a day. Just as the Lord loves our requests, He loves what we offer to Him. This reminds me of the very many blessings I have in my life. All things I’ve been given by Him were not of my own asking, but of God hearing my prayers and producing far beyond what I could ask. From what I offered and gave to Him, and He returned far better. Just as He multiplied 2 fish and 5 loaves into enough to feed thousands, he takes our small finite prayers and offerings and multiplies them far beyond what we could ever ask. David didn’t know how he’d defeat Goliath, he just knew that when he asked God WOULD provide in big ways. He knew that as long as he came equipped with the Victor, he already held the victory. It isn’t our job to write the answers to what we ask God, we just simply need to hand it over. God can and will make bigger blessings far beyond what our brains can comprehend to ask, we just need to place it in His big hands. God didn’t need 2 fish or 5 loaves to feed his people, He just needed his disciples to see that when they handed Him the fish and loaves, he’d over-provide. David grabbed 5 stones before walking into battle with Goliath, but God only needed one to defeat him.

“Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”
