Draw Near

Our Florida friend, Jamel, shares today’s encouraging words with us. You will be blessed and encouraged to draw near to God.

“So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.”

It's hard to see through a dirty window. But unless it's broken, it can always be cleaned. No matter who you are. No matter what you've done in the past. God waits patiently for you with open arms of grace. He is pleased most, not by frantically trying to make yourself good, but by throwing yourselves into His arms. The moment you ask for forgiveness, you will be forgiven. Now do your part and leave the guilt right where you are. Be encouraged, grace went ahead of your mistakes and mercy is following behind it. Just as the Bible says "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1.9
